The privileged setting of the rural Hemingway Kanala House means that you can escape from civilisation only a few metres away. Making your way through fabulous pine tree and holm oak woods to discover the marvellous evenings with views of the sea on the horizon and ending your day with a dip on a lonely beach.

The area is signalled with PR and GR route indications where everyone can find the trail to suit their level. If you wish, here at the country house we can help you to find different alternatives.

Routes not to be missed

Evening walks on Mount Atxarra.

Mount Ogeño with its two fabulous lookout points, ending in the picturesque village of Elantxobe.

Taking the Laida ferry to Mount Kalilotxu, ending the day with a visit to the surfing town of Mundaka. To return, catch the ferry back.

The Ereño zahar chapel with its 360º vistas of the entire Urdaibai basin.

Mount Illuntzar is the highest in the Urdaibai region (700m) and offers an easy climb. The prizes are the incredible views and the delightful wild horses.

The Gaztelugatxe chapel is an absolute gem and a place you should definitely try not to miss.
